Mind your own business

I read the following this morning with new eyes:
11Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, 12so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. [1 Thessalonians 4:11-12, NIV]
So, we should:
  1. Live quietly
  2. Mind our own business (!)
  3. Work with our own hands
With the purpose of:
  1. Daily life which can gain the respect of non-Christians
  2. Not be dependent on anyone else [i.e., be in control of one's own income]
As an employee (I have accepted a full time job to start the end of this month), it makes me think: hmm....
